After your complimentary exam, a set of diagnostic records are taken. These records typically consists of patient photos, and impressions for study models. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan that addresses the unique needs of each patient.
Diagnostic records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment. Throughout treatment we can always refer to your initial records to compare how your teeth looked before and after your orthodontic treatment.
Placement of Braces Appointment
Get excited. This is your big day!
Having your braces placed usually takes an hour to an hour and a half. Be sure to eat, brush and floss before your initial bonding appointment. Once you are seated, we prepare your teeth and place brackets as needed to align your teeth. Afterwards we take time to review the parts of your braces, how to clean them, and how to care for them.
Routine Office Visits
After your braces are placed you will be scheduled for routine visits. These appointments are set every four to eight weeks and usually take about 30 minutes. During these visits we adjust your appliances, change your wires, evaluate your oral hygiene and monitor your progress.
Keep in mind bonding appointments require a little more time so if a bracket comes loose, or if something breaks, please notify the office prior to your appointment so we can extend your scheduled appointment.
